Bosch WaterBoost System Cools Engine for Better Performance

Bosch WaterBoost System Cools Engine for Better Performance
Sep-07-16
Bosch’s new WaterBoost injection system helps to increase engine efficiency and reduce emissions by spraying blasts of water into the intake system.

The WaterBoost system operates by directing controlled blasts of demineralized water into the engine’s intake system, cooling the entire system. This in turn increases the amount of air in the combustion chamber, which improves performance, reduces pollutants by providing a more complete burn, and increases the amount of power that can be harnessed from the gasoline.

Although the technology is not new, the Bosch version is more affordable, and is desig
ned for use in three- and four-cylinder consumer, turbocharged cars.
