Contact-Free Blood Oxygen Monitor

Contact-Free Blood Oxygen Monitor
Jun-12-16
A new, contact-free blood oxygen monitor from Phillips is the first to be approved for use in clinics.

The Phillips system relies on their proprietary camera, which can detect and record minute changes in skin color. This color change data is then processed by an algorithm and translated into information as to the patient’s pulse rate, respiration rate, and blood oxygen level. The contact-free system is much more comfortable for patients, particularly newborns and people with fragile skin.
