Dec-03-14 The Daily Expeller lets serious chefs create their own cooking oil from any seed or nut, saving money while also ensuring quality ingredients.

The hand-cranked device can extract 20cc of oil from 100g of ingredients—enough for two meals—in only 15 minutes. The seeds or nuts are placed in the expeller's cup, where they are warmed and then smashed by operating the device's external levers. A bit of water is added to steam the pulverized meal, which is placed in a container and then pressed to release the oil.
