Dom'Up is a Semi-Permanent Tree-Slung House

Dom'Up is a Semi-Permanent Tree-Slung House
Feb-11-15
Inspired by treehouses and the surge of tree-camping tents, the Dom'Up treehouse can stay in the trees for years—offering a unique backyard getaway or even functioning restaurant.

Created by arboriculturist Bruno de Grunne and architect Nicolas d'Ursel from Trees and People, the Dom'Up is designed to be suspended between two trees using the aboreal fixing system from Trees and People. The Dom'Up's frame consists of steel, wooden flooring and an external rail, and it can be installed in the trees in about two days, with no crane required.

According to de Grunne, the hanging system allows the trees to adapt naturally to the system, and is much better for the trees than a treehouse built into the branches.
