Drone Augmented Reality System Gives Architects Virtual Views

Drone Augmented Reality System Gives Architects Virtual Views
Apr-07-15
A new augmented reality system for drones will let users overlay a virtual 3D image on top of the drone's video stream.

In development by the drone manufacturer Sysveo, the system would allow the drone to integrate a user-generated 3D object into the video stream. As the drone flies over the target area, it could be programmed to access a "graphic gallery" that would contain uploaded images that the user wants to visualize in the real world. The real-time virtual addition would allow the pilot to determine how a proposed building will fit into the landscape, for example. Although still in the initial stages, Sysveo CEO Clement Alaguillaume believes the system would appeal to architects and other members of the construction sector.
