Glowee Bacteria-Powered Lights

Glowee Bacteria-Powered Lights
Apr-21-16
Powered by bacteria, the Glowee lights offer a sustainable light source while also creating very little carbon dioxide.

Created by the company of the same name, the Glowee lights take advantage of the bioluminescence created by many organisms. Specifically, the lights are made up of a transparent shell holding a nutritive gel and the Aliivibrio fisheri bacterium, which will glow as it consumes the gel. So far, the Paris-based company has released a light able to glow for three day, and is looking to increase that time to over a month.

The lights are not meant to replace standard lighting, but rather to offer a useful alternative for different situations.
