Greenest Green Could Lead to Better Displays

Sep-15-17 The world's greenest green could open the door to ultra-high resolution displays

In order to deliver an ultra-high resolution image, today's electronic screens must be able to produce pure red, blue and green light. While pure red and pure blue light have been achieved, pure green had previously remained elusive.

Now, engineers at ETH Zurich, have created a pure green diode that could make ultra-high resolution color a reality. The flexible diode not only emits pure green light, it can also do so at room temperature, and is thin enough to be manufactured using existing roll-to-roll processes.
