The Locky invention adds smart-key features to standard keys, including a key finder and lock history.
A bit like a switchblade for your key, the user's key fits inside the Locky device, where it can be deployed as needed or tucked away inside. When the key is deployed, the Locky will automatically track its motions via its 9-axis IMU to determine how it is being used. That data, including door-locking actions and current location—are transmitted to the user’s phone by Bluetooth. Different Lockies can also be assigned to different people, allowing family members to be tracked, and the Locky will sound an alarm if it senses it has been forgotten.
