Hailed as the first wearable hydration monitor, LVL fits around the user’s wrist to measure their hydration levels based on the color of their blood. As the LVL shines near-infrared light through the skin, the reflected light is monitored by the built-in optical sensor to detect changes in the color of the blood, which show how much water has been lost in sweat. That data is then sent to a paired smartphone to alert the user as well as let them know how much water they need to drink to make up the difference.
