Mango Materials Weaves Clothing from Methane

Mango Materials Weaves Clothing from Methane
Oct-09-17
The innovative Mango Materials startup turns methane into a recyclable fabric.

The material is actually produced by bacteria, who feed on the methane and break the gas down to create a biopolymer. That biopolymer can then be made into fibers and woven to form fabrics. Not only does the Mango Materials process help reduce excess methane, the fabric is biodegradable, which cuts down on ocean pollution and landfill space.
