Mind-Reading Subconscious Menu

Mind-Reading Subconscious Menu
Dec-06-14
The eye-tracking technology of the Subconscious Menu allows it to determine what you want on your pizza by reading your mind.

The menu, being rolled out in Pizza Huts across the U.K., is displayed on a tablet equipped with a Tobii Technology eye-tracking system. Customers first calibrate the system by watching the Pizza Hut logo move across the screen, and then are presented with a display of 20 different pizza toppings. The system then tracks which ingredient the user looks at the longest, and will generate a pizza order in less than three seconds.

In tests, the Subconscious Menu has satisfied 98 percent of the participants. According to consumer psychologist Dr. Simon Moore, the menu could even lead to healthier eating, since we are "automatically drawn to foods that give us more nutrition."
