Neulasta On-Body Injector Eases Post-Chemo Treatments

Neulasta On-Body Injector Eases Post-Chemo Treatments
Mar-09-15
A new on-body injector that automatically delivers Neulasta to chemotherapy patients could improve patient comfort while also reducing visits to the clinic.

The day after chemotherapy, Neulasta (pegfilgrastim) is given to patients to help them fight infections by increasing the white blood cell count. However, many patients still do not receive their dose within the required twenty-four hours because of the need to return to the clinic or hospital for the injection.

To help promote compliance, the Neulasta Delivery Kit features an On-body Injector that can be loaded with the drug and then applied to the patient on the day of their chemotherapy. The injector will automatically deliver the medication a day later, without the patient needing to return to the clinic.
