Rain - the Next Source of Renewable Energy?

Rain - the Next Source of Renewable Energy?
Feb-10-20
Researchers have discovered that rain may be another potential form of renewable energy.

They recently developed a droplet-based electricity generator (DEG), featured with a field-effect transistor (FET)-like structure that allows for high energy-conversion efficiency and instantaneous power density increased by thousands times compared to its counterparts without FET-like structure.

This would help to advance scientific research of water energy generation and tackle the energy crisis.

This sound awsome. Got me to thinking about sound waves. I know its completly of subject but could sound waves be converted into usable electricity. Generators capable of converting the sound of thunder might be one way of converting the tremendous power of lightning into a renewable energy. Or maybe setting up said generators at locations like busy train stations or airports may reduce energy cost.
