Rear-Mounted Laser Helps Prevent Vehicle Collisions

Feb-08-15 A bumper-mounted laser promises to reduce collisions in fog by warning approaching vehicles of the car ahead of them.

The system mounts on the car's rear bumper using the including 3M adhesive pads and can be adjusted to different angles. Once connected to the cars electrical system and brake lights, the device will beam a red laser line onto the road behind the vehicle—warning other cars of the vehicle before they come too close. The distance of the line from the back of the car can be adjusted to suit the density of the fog.
