SEATALUM Surgical Glue

SEATALUM Surgical Glue
Sep-14-17
Inspired by sandworm secretions, the SETALUM surgical sealant can secure tissues within the moist environment of the body.

Designed as a supplement to standard sutures during vascular surgery, the SETALUM surgical sealant is made up of a polymer gel that can be light-activated to quickly form a flexible seal over the chosen area. The gel is biocompatible and safe for use within the body, and will not be washed away by blood or other fluids.

The SETALUM sealant recently received CE Mark approval, and will be commercialized by Gecko Biomedical.
