See-in-the-Dark Delivers Low Light Images with AI

See-in-the-Dark Delivers Low Light Images with AI
May-13-18
The See-in-the-Dark dataset uses AI to help cameras capture better low-light images.

Developed by a team from the University of Illinois and Intel, the See-in-the-Dark program was created by gathering a series of paired images—one shot with a properly exposed long exposure and one captured with a short exposure. After repeating the process more than 5000 times, the paired images were used to create an algorithm able to use RAW sensor data to create brighter images with less noise than conventional methods.
