Skyshot Helikite Offers an Alternative to Drone Photography

Feb-02-15 The Allsopp Action Cam Skyshot Helikite offers a trouble-free and less dangerous alternative to drone-based photography.

The kite/balloon hybrid (kytoon) reaches altitude through a combination of a helium-filled balloon and airfoils, which also keep the Helikite more stable in the wind and allow it to be used in wind speeds that would prevent drone use. The Helikite comes in three different sizes and can support three, four or six GoPro Hero cameras—depending upon the model. The cameras are attached to the balloon with Velcro, and can be remotely panned and tilted from the ground as the image is viewed through a mobile device.

Some Allsopp's other Helikites have been used by the military or industries since 1993.
