Soldier-Worn Flight Recorder Could Save Lives

Soldier-Worn Flight Recorder Could Save Lives
Sep-10-17
A wearable Flight Recorder for soldiers could help improve response time to battlefield casualties.

Developed with funding from the Australian Department of Defense, the recorder would be carried by the soldier, functioning as both a location beacon and a data recorder. In the case of battlefield injuries, the Flight Recorder’s beacon would make locating the soldier much easier, drastically improving their chance of survival.

According to Minister for Defence Industry, Christopher Pyne MP, “In addition to serving as a location beacon, the data captured by the Fight Recorder could be used to inform the design and performance of soldier equipment and protective wear.”

Could these Sep-10-17 innovations be widened for old and sick people as well as for risky work tasks and hobbies? When unusual behavior is noticed, alarms on different levels are first given to the user and if those are not set off to relatives or PSAP.
