SomnaPatch Detects Sleep Apnea at Home

Jun-08-17 The disposable SomnaPatch can detect sleep apnea at home, with no wires and no lab visit required.

Developed by the startup Somnarus, the SomnaPatch is made up of a disposable adhesive patch that attaches to the forehead and connects to a nosepiece. Once in place, the system will analyze the wearer’s breathing to gather data on blood oxygen levels, pulse rate, sleep duration and nasal pressure. The information is stored on the SomnaPatch for later evaluation, eliminating the need for a trip to an expensive sleep clinic.
