SunGlacier System Harvests Water from the Air

SunGlacier System Harvests Water from the Air
Feb-02-17
The solar-powered DC 03 water harvester from SunGlacier gathers water from the air, with no battery or moving parts required.

At the core of the DC03 is a Peltier element, which will become hot on one side and cold on the other when subjected to an electric current. A cone connected to the cool side causes water to condensate, producing droplets that can be collected in a reservoir. The current DC03 water harvesting unit can collect about 15cl of water every six hours, which is only half a glass, but the team believes the design can be optimized to produce more, and have even made the plans open-source to encourage innovation.
