The iHeart Detects Internal Age

The iHeart Detects Internal Age
Oct-11-16
The iHeart sensor device claims to detect the user’s “internal age” by measuring the stiffness of the aortic valve.

According to research, the Aorta’s stiffness level can indicate the individual’s risk of death from different causes. To help monitor the Aorta’s health, the iHeart sensor boasts the highest sampling rate of any commercially available pulse oximeter. The system is able to “see deep into the pulse” and detect the specific sound waves that can be used to determine aortic stiffness. The finger-worn device takes only 30 seconds to deliver its reading, and communicates with a paired iOS device to provide instant feedback on the user’s physiological age.
