Tri-Fold OLED Display

Nov-04-14 A new tri-fold OLED display brings us one step closer to a smartphone that can be opened like a map and then folded to fit in a pocket.

The HD display, recently demonstrated by the Semiconductor Energy Laboratory at a trade show in Japan, is touchscreen enabled and opens to a screen size of 8.7 inches (an improvement on an earlier version by the same company that was both smaller and lacking touchscreen capabilities). The screen can be folded three times without damage, and it can be used both in its folded state as well as when it is opened wide like a tablet.
