V-Bat Drone Embraces VTOL Technology

V-Bat Drone Embraces VTOL Technology
May-08-16
The innovative V-Bat drone offers more flexibility by taking off vertically, and then switching to horizontal flight mode.

Created by a team from Martin UAV, the V-Bat features a long endurance VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) design ideal for confined spaces, such as ship decks. Its ducted fan design eliminates exposed rotors—and increases safety—and it can fly for up to eight hours or more while carrying a payload of five pounds, and reach speeds of up to 100 mph. As an added bonus, the V-Bat can also hover in place, and could have applications in wildlife monitoring, as well as military operations.
