WASP Medical 3D-Printed Corsets Treat Scoliosis

WASP Medical 3D-Printed Corsets Treat Scoliosis
Jun-19-16
The 3D-printed, bespoke corsets from WASP Medical offer an affordable alternative to the back braces of conventional scoliosis treatments.

Scoliosis is a changing condition, requiring that the body braces used in treatment also evolve with it. With that in mind, 3D-printed corsets developed by Lelio Leoncini are created by first capturing an image of the patient’s torso using CAD-CAM scanning technology. The entire scan takes only about thirty minutes, and the resulting brace can be modified as needed, and eventually recycled.

Not only do the personalized corset offer better treatment, they are also less bulky and more comfortable than the traditional back brace.
