Water-Gen Harvests Water from the Air

Water-Gen Harvests Water from the Air
Dec-24-16
The Water-Gen machine uses a system of plastic “leaves” to harvest clean drinking water from the air.

Developed by the Israeli company Water-Gen, the system comes in three different sizes, with the largest able to harvest about 825 gallons per day in an environment with an 80-degree temperature and 60 percent humidity. A key feature of the system is its array of plastic “leaves” that cool the air and funnel the condensation through a filtration system and then into a reservoir.

The technology can easily be scaled, and the team believes the generated water will cost less than ten cents a gallon to produce, based on current energy prices.
