ZED Pod Places Homes Over Car Parks

Apr-20-16 The ZED Pod would tackle the housing and parking shortage at the same time by placing sustainable housing units on top of parking lots.

Designed by ZED Factory, a British architecture firm, the prefabricated ZED Pod is supported by stilts, allowing it sit over the parking area. While relatively small, the homes would include the standard units, including two bedrooms, and would be powered by solar energy. Other sustainable tech would include a green roof, composting toilet and heat recovery systems, and any extra energy generated could be used to charge electric vehicles. The homes are also quick to set up, with an entire community able to be assembled within a week.
