Measuring Apparatus and Method for Measuring Large Components

The invention relates to a measuring apparatus for measuring large components (10), comprising a measuring device and a drive unit (12) for actuating the measuring device. The invention further relates to a method for measuring large components (10) with such a measuring apparatus. The aim of the invention is to be able to measure large components (10) simply and inexpensively. To achieve this, the measuring apparatus according to the invention is characterized in that the measuring unit has a passive measuring arm (11) which has a reference point (13) that is fixed relative to the component (10), and in that the drive unit (12) can be moved and fixed on the component (10) and has a first drive (22) for the measuring arm (11), with which the measuring arm (11) can be coupled, and a second drive (35), with which the drive unit (12) can be moved on the component (10). The components (10) are measured with such a measuring apparatus in that the component (10) is measured in two or more measurement intervals, the drive unit (12) is positioned and fixed on the component (10) for each measurement interval, the measuring arm (11) which is coupled to the drive unit (12) is actuated by means of the drive unit (12), and a region of the component (10) is thereby measured.
