The invention relates to a device and a method for non-contact recording of spatial coordinates of a surface, comprising a sensor head (7) and a controller (13) connected to the sensor head (7), wherein the sensor head (7) is designed as a portable hand-held device, a projector (1) sand two cameras (2, 3). The controller (13) is also designed as a portable device, with an electrochemical energy source housed in the controller (13) or in the sensor head (7) for power supply to the sensor head (7) and the controller (13) and no cable connection of the sensor head (7) or the controller (13) is provided to further stationary components of the device. The invention further relates to a corresponding method for non-contact recording of spatial surface coordinates.
