CyborGlog: a Computer Program for Capture, Sharing, and Annotation of Content
This invention relates to a system, method and computer program for capture, sharing, and annotation of content. Specifically the invention relates to at least one content capture devices linked to a wireless medium operable to communicate and register via the wireless medium with at least one computer remote from the content capture device. The content capture device is operable to capture content based on user defined parameters on a continuous basis and to transmit the content via a wireless medium to either the remote computer or another content capture device that is registered with the remote computer. Then at least one remote computer enables a forum or community wherein users operating a content capture device may upload recordings, share recordings and associate comments to the recordings.Surveillance as taken from its French roots literally means “to watch from above”. Research expounding on this topic is well established and well known. More recently, the notions of “inverse surveillance” (or in other words surveillance emanating from individuals recording their personal experience and their immediate vicinity, rather than recording/monitoring of individuals by an outside party) have emerged. “Inverse surveillance” has also been more recently described as “sousveillance” to contrast it from surveillance generally. The term “sousveillance” shares French roots in that it is the composite of the French word “sous”, meaning below and the French word “veiller”, meaning to watch.
Sousveillance involves the creating recordings, including of audio or video content. In this disclosure “recordings” refers to both audio and video recordings, and “content” refers to audio and/or video content. With the development of wearable personal electronics, such as smart phones or personal digital assistants (PDAs), it has become increasingly easier to capture and share our personal experiences with others.
