Eledge Open Learning Management System

Eledge is an open source learning management system that provides software tools for creating and delivering online instructional materials and courses over the internet. The system includes navigation, registration, quizzes, exams, graders, uploads, class directory, help, grade book and much more. The software is written as a collection of more than 28 Java servlets, which use a MySQL database as a back end for storing course content.

Benefits
Eledge is designed to be used by high school and college instructors for creating and delivering online courses. The intent is to distribute the software, including source code, freely encourage its dissemination and use. By distributing the software under the GNU General Public License, the author hopes to ensure that the software remains freely available forever. Instructors and software developers are encouraged to participate in the project by adding new modules and improving existing modules and donating them back to the project repository.

Stage of Development
A formal patentability opinion is being considered at this time. This technology is part of an active and ongoing research program. It is available for developmental research support/licensing under either exclusive or non-exclusive terms.
