Rapid Extraction Method (REM) for Environmental Samples
This technology describes a method of extraction of chemical contaminants from environmental samples such as soil, sediment and water. The rapid extraction of the contaminants is achieved by use of an organic solvent (used to dissolve the contaminants) aided by pressurization and depressurization cycles. This method extracts contaminants much more thoroughly and economically than the standards.
Benefits
*Could be used for analysis of environmental samples in research, government and commercial laboratories
*Could become the state-of-the-art technique for extraction of contaminants from environmental samples
Stage of Development
This technology is part of an active and ongoing research program. Patent protection will be sought for this technology
