Open Innovation Contest for Green Growth

March 8, 2013 By IdeaConnection

396px-SludgeThere is still time to enter Veolia‘s open innovation challenge to develop and implement novel green technologies.

The water services and water treatment company is inviting proposals for a number of areas of interest. The first of these is in dewatering in wastewater treatment.

The challenge kicked off in early February and is open for submissions until April 8, 2013.

New Concepts or Incremental Improvements

Veolia is seeking either disruptive technologies or incremental improvements to dewatering,  the removal of water from solid material.  In particular it is after processes that can achieve a high dry solid content on sewage sludge without the addition of dry matter:

“Our vision is to help our customers to consider sludge no longer as a waste, but as a valuable resource.”

Submitted ideas will be handled by a dedicated project manager and a R&D specialist.  Detailed feedback will be given to participants during every step of the process.

A team of experts will be assembled specifically to look at challenge submissions and select the best ones. It will be comprised of R&D, Marketing, Purchasing and operational staff. Those who make it through this stage will be given the opportunity to present their ideas to key decision makers within Veolia.

Prizes

The prize will be to join forces with Veolia Environment and test the technologies under real conditions.  Also on offer is the potential to gain access to Veolia’s markets through strategic partnerships.  In addition, winners could benefit from a raised international profile.
