I have filed over 30 invention disclosures and 10+ patents (filed and pending).

One of the first patents I filed involved a novel method to generate epitaxial thin films that are nanostructured using block copolymer self-assembly. In this work, special polymer molecules (block copolymers) were used to make a highly ordered, porous template on a substrate, then a pulsed laser, only a few nanoseconds in duration, was used to selectively melt the substrate under the template and cause molten material to fill into the template. Resulting in an ordered nanostructured single crystal thin film epitaxially grown over substrate. This ultra-fast process had potential uses in generating high surface area single crystalline material for molecule detection, solar cells and many others.
