Stimulation of Cpt-1 As Means to Reduce Weight
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and composition for inducing weight loss and maintaining optimum weight. ; SOLUTION: An agent is administered that stimulates carnitine palmitoyl transferase-1 (CPT-1) activity. The method does not require inhibition of fatty acid synthesis. The method selectively enhances fatty acid oxidation, increases energy production, and reduces adiposity while preserving lean body mass through pharmacological stimulation of (CPT-1) activity.
