A potent antifungal agent from a Streptomycete

Summary Study of a unique Streptomycete has yielded a novel anti-fungal agent. The spectrum of activity of the isolated anti-fungal agent is similar to that of amphotericin but approximately three-times more potent on a weight basis. In addition, the isolated anti-fungal agent is a member of a structural class that has not been reported, either as a natural product or as an anti-fungal agent.
