Intraventricular Injection of Urokinase or other Thrombolytics

An experimental therapy that could accelerate the resolution of the blood clot and thus reduce the clot-related pathological events associated with the clinical management of intraventricular hemorrhage. Description (Set) Proposed Use (Set) In terms of patients with intraventricular hemorrhage, quicker resolution of intraventricular blood clot, reduction of the duration of external ventricular drainage, decrease in the degree and incidence of communicating hydrocephalus, and decrease in the associated mortality. This application is potentially applicable to all intracranial bleeds, particularly intracerebral bleeds. It?s effectiveness is currently under evaluation in a selected subset of intracerebral bleeds. This evaluation is sponsored by the FDA, Office of Orphan Products.
