The Analgesic and Anesthetic Roles of CGMP-Dependent Protein Kinase Ia Inhibitor

IA selective, potent and cell-permeable inhibitor of cGMP-dependent protein kinase Ia, without effects on cAMP-dependent protein kinase or cGMP-regulated phosphodiesterases, has been found to reduce response to nociceptive stimulation and requirement of inhalational anesthetics. Advantages of this agent from our study include: 1) high soluble in water and saline, 2) not only antinociception but also reducing anesthetic threshold, and 3) no side effect and no effect on cardiovascular system via intrathecal aministration.
