PTEN KO Lines for Drug Discovery

PTEN is a tumor suppressor gene that is frequently mutated or deleted in a variety of human cancers . PTEN functions primarily as a lipid phosphatase and plays a key role in the regulation of the PI3 kinase/Akt pathway, thereby modulating cell proliferation and cell survival. JHU researchers have created PTEN knock out cell lines. Description (Set) Proposed Use (Set) The cell lines described in this invention can be used in screens for novel molecules that target the PTEN pathway or to validate drugs discovered through other approaches.
