Galvanic micro-pump e.g. for generating small micro-flows in bio-technology, uses partitioning wall with high resistance for convective flow of electrolyte fluid

A galvanic micro pump has two electrodes (1,2) and at least one working chamber containing an electro-liquid and with each working chamber joined via an ion-conductive partitioning wall to a second chamber (6) which is provided with a DC voltage source, and a connection of the working chamber (8) and the second chamber (6) exists with a DC voltage source. The partitioning wall (4,5) has a high resistance for convective flow of the electrolyte fluid touching it and on the basis of the choice of electrodes (1,2) the electrical conductivity of the partition wall rests mainly on the migration ability of the cations or mainly on the migration capability of the anions. An independent claim is included for a method for generating and regulating small volume flows with high counter-flow.
