The buyer is seeking mobile telephone, PDA or any form of mobile handset patents. Areas of interest include user interface, physical handset designs and inventions that apply to features that would be visible to the user. Protocol and standard-supporting patents such as 802.11, Wimax, GSM, CDMA, TDMA, W-CDMA (UMTS), and CDMA2000 EV-DO, 3G, TD-SCDMA are of interest to the buyer. They are open to consider a wide range of technologies and applications.
Patents and Intellectual Property Requested:
The buyer interest is primarily in issued U.S. patents with supporting international counter-parts. They are open to consider individual patents or entire portfolios.
Ideal candidates for acquisition would have at least 5 years before expiry.
Deal Structure, Licensing and Ownership of Intellectual Property:
The typical deal structure would involve an acquisition of the patents. A license back can be negotiated.
