A biochemical method for specific protein labeling
UbiquiTAG is a novel platform by which small molecule tags (e.g. biotin and fluorescent probes) can be selectively transferred onto specific protein substrates via the ubiquitination pathway. This pathway-enabled selective labeling of ubiquitin subs trates could serve as a means for generating a variety of useful proteomic tools. The high selectivity, broad scope and non-reactive nature of UbiquiTAG makes it an ideal platform for studying protein dynamics and function in vivo.
