The invention relates to a cutting device for cutting graphene, comprising a receiving area (10) that is designed to receive the graphene (19) for cutting, a cutting element (12) charged with a catalytically active material at least in the region of a cutting tip, a displacement unit that is designed to displace the receiving area (10) and the cutting element (12) with the cutting tip in relation to one another, and a heating device (14) that is designed to provide thermal energy for a catalytic reaction of the graphene in the vicinity of a cutting path during the cutting of the graphene (19), said reaction involving the catalytically active material.
