Method and Device for Measuring the Force Acting on an Object Trapped in an Optical Trap Arrangement

The invention relates to a method for measuring the force acting on an object trapped in an optical trap arrangement, wherein a laser beam (1) is focused by means of a trap lens (2), and an object is trapped in said focus, and wherein further light scattered on the object is detected by a detector (4), and a force acting on the object, or a deflection of the object, is determined from the detector signal, wherein an obstruction filter (6) is disposed in the optical path of the trap arrangement on the optical axis thereof, by means of which a region about the optical axis is faded out in the optical path.; The invention further relates to an optical trap comprising a trap lens for focusing a laser beam (1) for trapping an object within the focus region of said laser beam (1), and a detector (4) for detecting a detector signal that creates the laser light scattered on the detector (4) by an object by means of a lens (2, 3), wherein a force acting on an object can be determined using the detector signal, wherein an obstruction filter (6) is disposed in the optical path of the laser beam (1) illuminating the object, and/or in the optical path of the scattered light in front of the detector (4) on the optical axis, said obstruction filter fading out a region of the predetermined diameter about the optical axis.
